Betty Louise (Berry) McGill, 91, of Howard, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on August 24, 2025.

Born October 16, 1933, in Draketown, PA, she was the daughter of Roy and Tillie (Packer) Berry. Betty graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1951 and later earned her practical nursing certificate from Centre County Vo-Tech in 1977, an accomplishment she was especially proud of.

On October 23, 1953, she married the love of her life, Archie McGill, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage until his passing in 1996. Together, they built a home on Hobson Street in Mill Hall, where they lived until 1977, when Archie's career took them to Florence, NJ, for 17 years. Betty worked for many years as a devoted caregiver in the Lock Haven area and was a lifelong member of Eastville Church of the Brethren.

Betty will be remembered for her independent spirit, strong will, and resilience, having lived the past 29 years on her own despite being nearly blind. She was blessed in her final months with the care and companionship of Janice Stringfellow, for whom her family is deeply grateful.

She is survived by her children, Audrey Hill (Bob) of Trout Run, William McGill of Lock Haven, and Penny Stover (Ron) of Howard, as well as her adopted daughter, Cheryl Hutton. Betty's greatest joy was her family, which includes 11 grandchildren: Autum Burdette (Willard), Joshua McGill (Jodi), Heather Alexander (Jamie), Nicholos Cillo, Morgan McGill, John McGill, Rachel McGill, Kathy Confer (Mark), Jackie Tressler (RT), Ryan Stover, and Angel Emery (David); along with 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Bonnie Linnenbaugh of Bellefonte and Walter Berry of South Williamsport, and many beloved cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Genevieve, and her brothers, Kenny Berry and Lester "Pete" Berry.

A Funeral Service for Betty L. McGill will be held at 10am on Friday August 29, 2025 in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC, 320 Main St. Mill Hall with Pastor Susan Hunter officiating.

Friends and family will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to services, interment will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Betty's honor may be made to the Centre County Office of Aging, Home Delivered Meals Program, 420 Holmes St. Bellefonte Pa 16823.
