Kenneth Royce "Kenny" McGill, 78, was welcomed into heaven on October 1, 2025.

Born on September 24, 1947, in Louisville, Kentucky, Kenny was the son of the late William Earl and Ruth (Polston) McGill. He had a lifelong love for horse racing-especially at Churchill Downs-old cars, and hunting for treasures in unexpected places. Kenny was a backyard mechanic, a car salesman, and a machine operator for many years. He was most proud of his time as a union steward, where he stood up for his coworkers and fought for what he believed was right. Later in life, Kenny found peace sitting under his backyard pergola, watching the critters come and go-especially the doves, which brought him quiet joy. He cherished time with family and loved sharing stories from his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, his brother, and his firstborn son.
He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, two children, a sister, and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly. Kenny will be remembered always-for his humor, his heart, and the simple pleasures he held dear. Per his wishes, a private family service will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Boys Haven, 2301 Goldsmith Lane, Louisville, KY 40218.
