On May 22, 2025, our Great Lord extended His tender arms of grace and mercy down from the heavens to carry His unwavering faithful servant, Betty Jane McNichols, 98, home to join him in heaven with her daughter and caretaker sitting right beside her holding her hand. Betty was born in Delaware, OH on November 7, 1926, to the late Wilber Emmitt Hall and Pearl Maye Cummings.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Floren Wayne McNichols, formerly of Carleton, NE., and her brother Carroll "Chic" Hall, Betty is honored and cherished in memory by her four loving children, Randy W. McNichols of Sebring, FL; Louann Barton and her husband Larry of Bear, DE; Scott McNichols and his wife Judy of New Port Richey, FL, and Jennylou Sciancalepore and her husband Michael of Chesapeake, VA. Betty is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren who brightened up every part of her heart.
Betty leaves a legacy of heartfelt compassion, love, blessings, and joy to all she came in contact with, whether long in the relationship or just a first-time encounter. Everyone that met her always felt that she made the entire visit with her about them! Hebrews 13:2 suggests that angels can appear in human form and that showing welcome comfort to strangers may involve unknowingly entertaining angels. Betty exemplified that.
Mom offers these life verses and prays all will read John 10:27-29 and Psalm 19:14. She also always expressed, "With Christ in the Vessel, we'll Smile through the Storm."
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M on June 5th, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., of Quarryville, PA., is handling arrangements and online entries and condolences may be offered to the family via www.dewalds.com.
The family asks that donations be sent to "John and Roman Missions Fund" at Tidewater Baptist Church, 1316 Campostella Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23320, in lieu of sending flower arrangements.
