Services for Betty Mills Conner, 92, of Covington, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 28, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Chaplain Eddy Carrell officiating. Burial will follow in Derden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, September 27, 2024, at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Cary Bruner, Cassie Bruner, Stephanie Alcala, Joshua Alcala, Isaac Alcala, and Justin Mullins.
Betty passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Covington. She was born on November 13, 1931, in Osceola, Texas, she was the daughter of Carl and Nancy Bertha (Walker) Mills. On August 19, 1950, Betty married Freddy James Conner in Woodrow, Texas, and they shared 67 wonderful years together until his passing on February 3, 2018. Betty dedicated 19 years of her career to the Santa Fe Railroad as a mechanical clerk. Throughout her life, Betty had a passion for crossword puzzles and enjoyed visits to the WinStar Casino. She was an avid supporter of the Texas Rangers, finding joy in their games. Her legacy of love and devotion to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was a devoted family member, cherished by her daughters, Debra Bruner and her husband, Terry, and Carolyn Cox. She is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Bizzell; grandchildren, Christy Mullins and her husband, Charles, Cary Bruner, and Cassie Bruner; as well as great-grandchildren, Stephanie Alcala and her husband, Joshua, and Justin Mullins. Additionally, Betty was blessed with great-great-grandchildren, Isaac Alcala, Lexi Alcala, Celes Alcala, Gracie Alcala, Emma Alcala, Jace Mullins, and Kynzlie Mullins, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddy James Conner; her parents; and her twin brother, Billy Joe Mills.
