Frankfort – Betty Sue Mitchell Clark, age 78, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Greg Herriford and Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
Mrs. Clark was born on January 5, 1947, to the late Dennis O'Dell Harrod and Hazel Stigers Harrod Lewis. She was a 1966 graduate of Frankfort High School and stayed involved in alumni activities. She was a friendly face as Head Teller at State National Bank and retired as Head Teller from Farmer's Bank to stay at home with her granddaughter, Ali Valentine. Her family and friends were the highlight of her day. She thoroughly enjoyed decorating her home inside and outside for the holidays. One of her favorite sayings was, "Always be kind to one another." She was involved with the senior group at First Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. Mrs. Clark was lovingly known as "Nene" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Clark; children, Chris Mitchell, Lori Clark (Billy), Jeffery Mitchell (Gregg Slaugther); sister, Judy Clark (Joe); and by fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, seven nephews, and two nieces. She was also blessed with too many cousins and good friends to name.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry B. Mitchell; sister, Patricia Cordle; niece, G.J. Cordle, and grandson, Calvan Mitchell.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell, Gregg Slaughter, Billy Clark, Seth Clark, Brian Nesselrode, and Lee Nesselrode.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to First Christian Church of Lexington.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
