Betty June Nichols
Woodland, MS- Betty June Nichols, age 91, passed from her earthly home, Monday, November 18, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born Betty June Moore on June 12, 1933, to Thomas Wallace Moore and Ethel Lucille Davis Moore in Houston, MS.
Betty was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland, MS. She was a retired homemaker. To know her was to love her. She loved her husband and children immensely. In fact, she loved children so much that for many years she kept them in her home and loved them like her own.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Houston Funeral Home with the service starting at 2 PM with visitation from 12 PM-2 PM. Bro. Joel Britt and Bro. Jon Haimes will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Woodland, MS. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Nichols family.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Gregory, Lewis Easter, Mark Lancaster, Jeff Griffin, Wade Griffin and Robert Huffman.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Libby Griffin of Woodland, MS (formally of Brandon, MS); her grandsons, Wade (Katie) Griffin, Jeff (Robyn) Griffin all of Oxford, MS; her granddaughters, Tiffany Nichols and Amy Nichols both of Houston, MS; her great-grandchildren, Liam Griffin, Charlotte and Caroline Griffin, Ansley, Kason, Jossilyn and Micah Coleman; and her sister, Gloria Lofton of Aurora, IL.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Nichols; her parents, Thomas Wallace and Ethel Lucille Moore; her sons, Gary and Steve Nichols; and her sister, Fran Moore.
