Betty L. Paska

Betty L. Paska (née Binka), age 98, of Mt. Greenwood, passed from this life peacefully on November 3, 2025.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Emil J. Paska Sr. who passed away in 2013. She is the devoted mother of Emil J. Jr. (Janis Buller) and Caryl L. (Harry S.) Zirbes. Betty is the cherished grandmother of Brian P. (Nicole) Zirbes and step-grandmother of Aiden Moore and Avah Moore. She is the loving sister of the late Fred R. (June) Binka. Betty is a fond aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a cousin to many. She also leaves behind numerous friends and family members who will forever cherish her memory.
Born on July 31, 1927, in Chicago, IL, to the late Rudolph and the late Bessie Binka, Betty lived a full and creative life. She had an enduring passion for knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and sewing; many were the recipients of her creativity, including many newborn babies at Metro South Hospital. Betty was also a talented seamstress who lovingly made clothes for herself and her children when they were young. She cherished the friendships she made with the Needle Club ladies at the Palos Heights Library.
Faith was a cornerstone of Betty's life. She was a longtime member of St. Peter and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Island. Betty later joined St. Phillip Lutheran Church also in Blue Island, where she was an active member of the church council and the church choir. Most recently her faith brought her to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Sheperd in Palos Heights, where she enjoyed being a member of the OFF Club (the over fifty-five club). Her devotion, creativity, and kindness touched all who knew her.
Visitation for Betty will be held on Friday, November 7th, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Krueger Funeral Home, 13050 Greenwood Ave, Blue Island, IL.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 8th, from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM, also at the Krueger Funeral Home. Cremation is private.
