Betty D. Plaisance, 90, a native of Marrero and resident of Cut Off passed away on Monday, November 3rd, 2025.
Mrs. Betty is survived by her children: Gordon Plaisance (Mandy), Amanda Rose, Gary Plaisance (Greta), Neil Plaisance (Antoinette), Julie Schiflette (Bobby), Ned Plaisance; grandchildren: Seth (Kimberly), Samuel, Shannon (Jared), Ronnie (Stephanie), Alexis (Scott), Gabrielle (Tony), Meagan (Ben), Brooke (Tyler), Josh, Nick (Alexi), Drake (Brittany), Leland, Cheri (Joey), Denise (Bryant); great grandchildren: Gabriel, Hadley, Brad (Tobi), Blake (Ariel), Hank, Eli, Edith, Sophia, Wyatt, Nylah, Finley, Rhyse, Drewhona, Dakota, Danny, Mathew, Mason; great great grandchild: Tate and one on the way; granddaughter in love: Allison (Justin); brother: Dennis Dugas; sisters in law: Antoinette Dugas and Mary Dugas; and a crew of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Plaisance was preceded in death by her husband: Gabriel Thomas Plaisance; parents: Hector and Althea Breaux Dugas; fathers and mothers in law: Charles P. Guidry Sr. and Julienne Aguillard Guidry and Etienne Plaisance and Theresa Aguillard Plaisance; and siblings: Robert, Gerald, Pearl, Leroy, Lawrence, Loretta, Joann.
Mrs. Betty loved serving God and her Church, teaching at The Center, spending time in her garden, cutting her grass, and spending the day shopping and not spending a dime. Most of all, she loved getting together with her crew of family and friends.
Mrs. Betty’s family would like to thank the staff of Patterson Health Care and St. Joseph Hospice for their amazing care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 from 10:00 am until service time. A Celebration of Mrs. Betty’s Life will begin at 12 noon with burial following in the Church Cemetery.
