Betty H. Pryor, 73, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at her home.

On March 2, 1951in New York, NY, Betty was born to the late Carl Hall and Marion Hall. Betty began her early life growing up in Long Island, NY before moving to Miami, FL around 1960. In Miami, she attended Palmetto High School before attending Florida State University for college. Betty found her true calling as a Special Education teacher at Butler High School in Matthews, NC for a number of years.

Betty was a true hippie at heart and truly felt at home in that generation. Her favorite band was the Beatles and she always loved John Lennon and Paul McCartney. She had many Beatles CD’s and countless books about the Beatles. Betty was an avid reader, lover of chocolate and snacks, enjoyed playing tennis, and taking yoga classes. Most of all, Betty’s true love was her family and she loved nothing more than to spend time with her family whenever she could.

Betty met Eugene “Gino” Pryor at a gym in Miami and soon after, they were married in 1982.Betty was truly happy with Gino and that love never ended. The family moved to Charlotte, NC in 1994 and they lived in the Mint Hill area for 15 years. Upon retirement for both, they moved to Baxter Village in Fort Mill, SC. They both truly loved the Baxter community and the many friends they met along the way. Betty developed many close friendships and loved being in Baxter. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Nana), and friend.

From her son Ryan, “I know my mom loved her family more than anything and wanted to be around to see my kids grow up, but I can take some comfort in the hope she is reunited with my Dad. We will all truly miss my kooky Mom and will cherish the many fond memories we have.”

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Gino. She is survived by her son Ryan(Lindsey)Pryor and three stepchildren, Michael(Denise) Pryor, Steve (Robyn) Pryor, and Erin Pryor; her sister, Agnes (Peter) Patterson; her niece, April (Clive) d’Adesky; her nephew, Peter (Sherri) Patterson; and seven grandchildren, Bowen, Michael, Christian, Alara, Andrew, Lorelei, and Callum; along with many cousins and friends.
