Thomas Stanley Harris, 83, born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on February 25th, 1943 . He lived in the Charlotte area for 27 years and Tega Cay, South Carolina, for 24 years . He passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 surrounded by his family. Thomas lived a long and dedicated life centered around family, his church, and his friends. A lifelong lighting professional, he remained active in his work until his final days, demonstrating the strong work ethic and commitment that defined much of his life.
Thomas was known for his reliability, skill, and pride in his profession. Those who worked alongside him respected both his knowledge and his dedication to doing things the right way. Beyond his career, he valued time with family and took great pride in the generations that followed him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Roslyn Harris; his son, Thomas James Harris (Deborah Wallace Harris); and his daughter, Susan Harris Hooper (J. Aaron Hooper), He also leaves behind many grandchildren, Summer Harris Austin (Daniel Austin), Ashton Hooper, Cassidy Hooper, Christian Harris, Lexi Hooper, Elijah Harris and great-grandchildren Lochlan Austin and Scarlett Austin who will continue to carry forward his legacy as they cherish the memories they shared with him.
Tom will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to God, his family, and the example of perseverance and dedication he set throughout his life.
His family invites those who knew him to remember and celebrate a life well lived—honoring his faith, the love he shared with his family, and the legacy he leaves behind in the many lives he touched.
A celebration of his life and resurrection will be held at Woodlawn Community Fellowship Church. Located at 737 E Woodlawn Road in Charlotte, North Carolina at 4 o’clock Friday, March 13. The service will be officiated by Jonathan Coppedge-Henley. All are welcome to come to remember and celebrate.
