Bryson Harris

With broken hearts, we share that Bryson Dean Harris passed away unexpectedly at just 11 years young on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Born October 15, 2014, in DeKalb, the son of Joshua Storey and Jessica Harris.

He had so much life left to live, so many dreams still forming, and so much joy still to give. While we know that his life on earth was too short for us to accept, we also know what he has been welcomed into Heaven, where he can happily spend eternity. No family deserves to experience the loss of a child with so much life still ahead of him.

Bryson was full of light, personality, and joy. He loved riding his bike, playing basketball, listening to rap and hip-hop music, dancing like no one was watching him, and expressing himself through his cool hairstyles. He adored his cat Toast, and could spend hours playing Roblox, where his creativity and imagination truly shined. Though his time here was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he gave will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Even in his passing, Bryson continues to be a hero. He is an organ donor, and because of his selfless gift, he will continue to live on the save lives. His generosity has helped five other children have a second chance, sparing their families from having to endure the same heartbreaking pain. Even from Heaven, Bryson's light will continue to shine through the lives he saved by donation of right kidney - Illinois, left kidney - Minnesota, liver - Ohio, right lung - Ohio, and heart - Ohio.

Survived by his mother, Jessica; father, Joshua (Amanda Bankes) Storey; brother, Joshua Jr.; grandmother, Sharon Allen; grandparents, Marcia Bankes and Greg Bankes; uncles, Shawn Harris, Jason Bankes; and second mother, Amy (Matt) Anderson and their daughters, Maddison, Kyleigh and Brooklynn. Predeceased by his papa, David Allen; sister, Kyndra Storey; uncles, George Szabo Jr. and John (Judy) Szabo; and great-grandfather, George Szabo.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Cooper Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main St., Genoa, IL.
