Sandra “Sandy” West, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 8 after a courageous battle with ALS. She was surrounded by the love of her family as she went home to be with the Lord.
Sandy was known by all who met her for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She had a special gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. She lived her life with grace, compassion, and humility, and her deep love for the Lord guided everything she did. Her faith was evident in the way she cared for others and in the quiet strength she showed throughout her life.
Above all, Sandy treasured her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Mike, and a loving and proud mother to Sydney, Avery, and Michael. Her greatest joy was supporting and encouraging her children, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and faith.
Throughout her life, Sandy touched countless people with her warmth, strength, and servant’s heart. Even during her difficult journey with ALS, she remained a powerful example of courage, grace, and faith, inspiring those around her with her perseverance and trust in God.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Sydney, Avery, and Michael; her parents, John and Debbie; her siblings, Stacy and John; and many dear friends and extended family members who will continue to cherish her memory.
A service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held later this spring in New York. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sandy’s foundation, which provides college scholarships to children who have been impacted by a parent with ALS.
