Sylvia Ann Alsup Stallings, 82, of Fort Mill, SC passed away on Thursday March 5, 2026, at High Point Assisted Living in Fort Mill, SC.
Sylvia was born on April 13, 1943. She grew up in Fort Mill, SC and graduated from Fort Mill High School.
She met the love of her life, Bill the following year. They were married on May 26, 1962, and had two daughters, Laura and Hope.
While raising her daughters and making a home for their family in Fort Mill, Sylvia had a long, varied career from which she eventually retired at First Union/Wells Fargo bank. Her favorite and most memorable work was at Piedmont Airlines, which enabled her family to go on many exciting travel adventures over the years. Once her children were older, she retired with Bill in Tega Cay on a lakefront property, and their whole family also relished time together in Garden City at their oceanfront condo.
Sylvia enjoyed hosting family gatherings on the lake- taking boat rides, swimming, tubing, and grilling out for holidays like July 4th . She loved music, especially Elvis and gospel, and going to concerts and shows. Sylvia had a heart for service- she donated to many causes, volunteered at church and the Fort Mill History Museum, and she was always there to walk family members/friends through all major life events. Sylvia will be forever remembered by friends and family as a pillar of support and love.
She was the daughter of the late Dencil and Dicie Alsup and the sister of the late Danny Alsup. Her loving husband of sixty-two years, William (Bill) Stallings passed two years ago. She is survived by their daughter Laura Stallings, their daughter Hope Gold and son-in-law Dr. Joshua Gold. She leaves her beloved grandchildren to remember her fondly- Aia Andonovska, Roxanne Ornellas, Della Andonovska, and William Gold. Sylvia is also survived by her sisters Cloye Alsup and Linda Hutto.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday March 10th, 2026, at 2 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 pm.
In lieu of donations, please hug your loved ones, and be kind to all you meet.
