Betty J. Puleo Betty J. Puleo, 92, formerly of Fluvanna Ave Ext., passed away peacefully Friday, (September 5, 2025) in Heritage Green Nursing Facility. She was born April 8, 1933 in Patton, PA the daughter of the late Regis and Josephine B Diethrick Burkey. Betty was a graduate of Patton High School and attended Jamestown Community College. After raising her children, Betty returned to JCC and became a home health aide with Chautauqua County Health Department. Betty enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and they believed she was the world's best cook. She also enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, spending winters in Myrtle Beach with her husband and great friends. She is survived by her children Frederick E. (Linda) Puleo of Bemus Pt. NY; Jeffrey J. (Jennifer) Puleo of Lakewood, NY; Cristine (Michael) Capozzi of Olean, NY; grandchildren: Elizabeth Fred, Tom Fred, Adam (Samantha) Puleo, Markus Puleo; five great grandchildren: Jaxon Fred, Colton Fred, Avery Puleo, Abel Puleo, Jameson Puleo; a brother Kenneth Burkey; a sister Janet Gustafson and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Frederick E. Puleo whom she married July 14, 1951 who died April 5, 2019; a brother Don Burkey. Visitation will not be observed. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday (September 10, 2025) in Fluvanna Cemetery. Memorials Contributions may be donated to the Fluvanna Fire Department 3536 Fluvanna Ave. Ext., Jamestown, NY 14701, or Heritage Ministries at www.heritage1886.org.
