Betty Lois Smith, age 86 of Xenia, OH passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at home. She was born June 26, 1934 in LaFollette, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Orpha Vincent.

Left to cherish Betty's memory are her children: David (Leslie) Smith, Debbie Potts, Dale Smith, E.J. (Nell) Smith; and Myra Hall (Jeff Taulbee) ; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Smith; numerous nieces and nephews, and several other family members and friends.

Betty was a loving, sweet-natured person who always had a smile. She was a gentle soul, and even hummingbirds would come for a rest in her hands. Betty was capable of accomplishing nearly anything she set her mind to. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and singer. Everything she cooked was wonderful. Her banana pudding and peanut butter fudge was second to none. She enjoyed flower gardening, painting, fishing, playing the piano, and attending church services. Most of all, Betty loved spending time with her family. She was deeply loved by her family, and they will miss her immeasurably.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Herbert Smith.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 12, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.
