Betty Jean Stagg, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (GGMa), sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on September 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing has left us with deep sadness and heavy hearts. Betty is survived by her children Ronette Yarbrough (John), Ronald N. Stagg, Jr. (Elizabeth), Kathie Balch (Jim), and Nancy Agee (Carl). She also is survived by 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, her brother Richard "Dick" Faurote (Anna), and her sister-in-love Barbara Faurote. In eternal peace, Betty is reunited with her beloved husband of 72 years, Ronald N. Stagg Sr., her parents, Hubert & Dorothy Faurote, and her siblings Herbie (Rose), Lloyd (Alice), Bob (Bonnie), Walt (Barbara), her nephew Bobby and her grandson Eric. Betty Jean Stagg was born on September 18, 1932, in Poughkeepsie, New York. Betty, a loving sister of five brothers, grew up in New York. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1952 and married Ron on September 28, 1952, in Hurley, New York, just before Ron's deployment to Korea. Together, they built a life in Kingston, raising their four children and constructing their home from scratch. In 1969, they relocated to Hollywood, Florida, where Betty worked for Grand Union and later Publix. In 1974, they moved to
Bradenton, Florida, where Betty worked at Publix for 20 years before retiring in 1992. In 1994, Ron and Betty settled in Morton Village, Bradenton, where they actively participated in their church and community. They were part of the leadership team of the Healing Rooms of Bradenton for many years. Betty's life was a testament to love, faith, and family. As her children, we have been incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful mother. She embodied the spirit of a Proverbs 31 woman, serving as a true example of a woman of God. She prayed daily for all of us, provided a listening ear when needed, and offered Godly wisdom. We are truly grateful to have called her mom. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew and loved her. Heaven has gained a giant prayer warrior, who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart. Our family will miss deeply our Mom, Grandma, GGMa, Sister, Aunt, and friend who prayed fervently for each one of us every day. To know our Mom was to love her; she was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with. We are sure she was greeted with these words from her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, " Welcome, well-done Betty Jean. Enter into your heavenly reward!" Betty favorite Bible verse, "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me," Philippians 4:13, reminds us of the Lord's love and cares for us. He has not forgotten us.
A service for Betty Jean Stagg will be held on September 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, located at 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 3424. Please wear blue, as it was Betty's favorite color. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Affinity Care Continuum Foundation.
Please cherish every moment you have with your loved ones, give them extra hugs today, and always remember to express your love for them. We love you; God bless you, be good, and sweet dreams until we meet again in Heaven.
