Betty J. Storer, age 79, of Marengo, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2024, following a sudden illness. Born on March 24, 1944, to Herbert and Renee 'Davis' McNickle, Betty married Paul Storer on June 14th, 1969.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul. Sister Mary Lou Walters. Daughter Michelle Bateman, and sons Eric (Heather) Storer and Brian Storer. Betty leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Courtney Strauss, Trey (Victoria) Storer, Trever (Autumn) and Brooks Lane, Brody (Mykaela), and Lydia Lane. Many adored nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Renee and Herbert McNickle, her brother Ed McNickle, father-in-law Melvin Dutton, mother-in-law Esther Storer, several brothers and sisters-in-law, and her oldest daughter, Dollea.
Having spent numerous years working for the Highland Local School District as a cook and bus driver, Betty dedicated her life to the Marengo, Ohio, community. She found joy in softball, euchre, and cherished moments with family. A lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, Betty took great pleasure in watching her children and grandchildren engage in various activities.
Betty considered being a wife, mother, and grandmother her proudest achievement. She was also proud of the enduring "The Sandwich" tradition shared with her beloved sister, leaving it with its rightful owner. Known for her bright smile and never meeting a stranger, Betty paid close attention to her surroundings, effortlessly recalling special memories at the drop of a hat.
The funeral home will be open for friends and family to share memories or convey messages of condolence on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, from 4 to 7:00 PM, with the service commencing at 7 PM.
