Betty J Tuskey (nee Wilkinson)
Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday June 2nd, 2024; she was 96 years young. If Betty could give one piece of advice it would be "Listen to what everyone has to say and then do what you want". Betty was an avid crafter, gardener and lover of wildlife; she called the birds & squirrels her "kids" and made sure she had treats for them every day. This love of wildlife could stem from her early career as a farmer when she had 6000 chickens under her care. She was even featured in an agricultural magazine at the time! A big part of her life was craft fairs, especially at Point Loomis Mall, where she would sell her crocheted top towels as well as other creations of hers and Bob. Betty had a green thumb as she had orchids, cacti, hen & chicks and multiple other flowers/plants that would repeatedly bloom and multiply under her care.
Betty is survived by three children Mary Ann Whelan, Katheren Hermanson and Rodney Hermanson (Jill). She is further survived by her grandchildren Martina Newman (Polo "Marco"), Sheryl Enders (Darren), Kimberly Whelan, Jeremy Anderson, Jacob Schwabe, Melissa Strobel, Ashley McFarland (Andre), Alissa Uselmann (Trent); great grandchildren Thomas Newman, Tiffany Newman, Zachary Pankonin, Paige Strobel, Ethan Schwabe(Krystal), Jason "JJ" Strobel, Lauren Enders, Jorja Murray, Stefan Enders, Nathan Enders, Sofia Whelan, Riley Uselmann, Abigail McFarland, Benjamin McFarland; great-great grandchildren Jacob Newman and Jensen.
She was preceded in death by husbands Robert Tuskey, and Howard Hermanson; son Roger Hermanson; grandchildren Adam Hermanson and Timothy Whelan; son in law John Whelan; cow Christine; multiple finger licking good chickens.
We would like to extend special thanks to Aurora At Home, Aurora Hospice Care and AdvaCare and their staff for the wonderful care and support they gave to Betty and family. You are all earth angels for the work you do providing comfort and care for patients daily. Thank you!
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 29,2024 from 2-4 pm at Hartson Funeral Home.
