Betty June VanTassell

Betty June VanTassell, 80, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. She was born June 12, 1943 in the Wiville Community of Woodruff County a daughter of the late Ruben Alfred and Betty Maud (Cullum) Lee. Betty was employed as a sales associate with Wal-Mart for 10 years. She enjoyed flowers and flower gardening and was blessed to have been able to work along side her best friend, Kelly Kennedy, for many years growing ferns. Having lived in Florida for a while, she thoroughly enjoyed the beach.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Cook (Scott); son, Tyler VanTassell (Jerica); sister, Judy Johnson; grandchildren, Nikki Pfleger, Kayla Waggle, Tabitha Campbell, Madison VanTassell, Jordan VanTassell and Jace VanTassell as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred E. Lee and wife, Janet E. Lee; sister, Barbara Bowen; a brother, James Ricky Lee; her son, Mark A. VanTassell; grandson, Jeremy B. Roberts and her former husband, Marvin F. VanTassell.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024 from noon-1:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Augusta Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
