Betty Vogley

Betty J. Vogley, age 87, passed away peacefully on November 13,2025.

Betty was born on December 7,1937 to Charles and Sylvia Fletcher of Canton, Ohio. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1955. Betty wed her loving husband, Jim, in June 1957. They were blessed with three devoted children, Patricia, Julie & Steven. Betty lost Jim to illness in 2015 after 58 years of marriage.

Betty and Jim were lifelong residents of Canton, Ohio and were active and devoted parishioners of St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Canton. Jim was a decorated member of the Canton Police Department. Betty was also very involved in parish and community activities. She was an ardent supporter of the Knights of Columbus and many other organizations within the parish.

In addition to her service to her family and to the parish, Betty was employed at Canton AAA for many years.

Betty so enjoyed visiting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved their family vacations and trips.

Betty was a gifted cook and chef. Her holiday dinners were eagerly anticipated by her husband and all of her children. They provided her with an opportunity to do what she always loved: sharing family stories, memories and hopes for the future. Betty also treasured the time that her grandson, Hunter, was able to spend with her. She always knew that she would be proud of him and that he would be successful in whatever he decided to do.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim, by her parents Charles and Sylvia, and by her daughter, Patricia.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Julie (Fred) and Steven (Melissa). Also surviving Betty are her grandchildren: Jessica (Jared), Elizabeth (Adam), Hunter and Victoria. As well as her great grandchildren: Alexandra, Arabella, Gabriel and Charlotte.

Betty was a loving, committed and supportive Daughter, Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Her devotion to her immediate and extended family was complete and unconditional. In this respect, Betty was the gold standard. The pain of Betty's loss will be felt now by all who knew her, but the fond memories of her life and love will endure forever.

Funeral arrangements for Betty have been entrusted to the Schneeberger & Oser Funeral Home. The family has scheduled calling hours Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Plain Twp. A mass of Christian burial will take place after calling hours. The Reverand Benson Okpara will preside as the Celebrant of the Mass.
