Betty Louise Webster, age 76 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday evening, November 7, 2025, at the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. Born on December 5, 1948, in Covel, WV, she was the daughter of the late Wade Holland McBride and Edith Mae Bennett McBride. Her husband James W. “Joe” Webster preceded her in death in September 2012. A great-granddaughter, Madison and siblings, Virginia Miller, Norma Jean Kelly and Wade H. McBridge, Jr. also preceded her in death.
A proud 1966 graduate of Herndon High School in Wyoming County, Betty was a remarkable woman full of life and joy. She had a passion for playing Yahtzee, especially with her family and friends, often filled with laughter and friendly competition. Known for her keen eye for bargains, she had quite the collection of shoes that could rival even the best shoe stores! In her younger days, you could find her taking an exhilarating ATV ride, camping under the stars, or casting her fishing line with glee. Above all, her favorite moments were those spent doting on her family, particularly her grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Susie Webster of Moorefield, WV, grandchildren, Justin Lockley and Derek Lockley of Moorefield, WV and Miranda Harvey of Romney, WV and great-grandchildren, James, Elijah, Blake and Addy.
Betty may have left this world, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. In honor of Betty’s wishes, she will be cremated, and private services will be held in the near future where family and friends will gather to celebrate her vibrant life and the memories she created.
