Betty J. Williams

Betty J. Williams, 97, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.

Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Cecile (Lightner) Lehman and the wife of the late Charles M. Williams, Jr., who passed away in 1992.

Betty worked for many years as a Tax Collector for South Middleton Township, elected in 1978 and retiring in 1994. She was also a Republican Committee woman and was involved in volunteering for the Bubbler Foundation and was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Boiling Springs.

Survivors include her daughters: Char Williams-Clouse (Randy), Lisa Donovan (William); her grandchildren: Trevor Donovan, Michael Starner (Kristen); her three great grandchildren: Jackson, Lucas and Max; her brother: Russell Lehman as well as her half-sister: Virginia Franklin.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter: Linda Starner; her step-mother: Mary (Kolb) Lehman and her half-sister: Phyllis Line.

Relatives and friends are invited to her celebration of life at 1:30 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where the family will greet guests after 12:30 pm. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
