Betty Wright Obituary

Betty Jean Cole-Wright born October 4, 1937 in Jefferson, Texas entered the world as the eldest sibling of her late parents Willie Jean Cole and James Calvin (Jack) Cole. She was a steady light and a guiding presence for her family, the glue that held the family together. Betty was a graduate from Dunbar High School and worked for Stateline Laundry as a Supervisor as well as a nurse for Dr. Harrell.
Known lovingly as "Mama Dear", she poured her heart into everyone she held close. She reunites in peace with her late husband Allen (Sonny Boy) Wright, also her children: her daughter - Vicki Lynn Wright, her sons - Allen Wayne Wright, Clovis Earl Wright and Eddie Ray Wright, two grandsons - Courtney Wright and Darian Cole, her siblings - Helen Louise Kirkendall, Ida Mae Cole (Williams) Charles Raymond Cole, Clarence (Tank) Cole, James Calvin Cole, Eddie Lee Cole Sr. and Wayne Edward Cole.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three daughters - Zenovia (Karl) Hilliard, Tolitha (Charles) Harris and her baby girl, Patricia Wright, her three sons - Donnie Cole, James Cole and Michael (Jackie) Wright, two stepdaughters - Martha (Charles) Morehead and Evelyn Donald, her sisters - Brenda Zachery, Clara Ann Howard and Bonnie (Claude) Andrews, her three brothers - Daniel Ray Cole, Ronald Eugene Cole and Stanley Wayne (Teresa) Cole Sr., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation: Monday, November 24, 2025 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the mortuary
Funeral service: Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. - Whitaker Street Temple of Truth Church - 519 Whitaker Street - Texarkana, Texas
