Bettye M. Bolding

bettye bolding passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. She was born on
December 21, 1925, the daughter of Carl and Lillie Moore of Nimmons, Arkansas.
After graduating from high school, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri and worked in a
department store. She met her husband, Sam Henry Bolding through a chance
encounter with her future Father-in-Law. Her family were farmers and were leasing land
from Papaw Bolding. When Sam returned from his service with the Merchant Marines
in World War II, Papaw Bolding insisted Sam go with him to meet bettye. Papaw was
onto something as Sam and bettye went onto marry and were blessed with a family just
two years later. Sam and bettye were married sixty-nine years until Sam passed away
in 2014.
bettye was a faithful servant of the Lord her entire life. She gave many years of service
to the Church of Christ. After spending time in a banking and real estate career, she
returned to her first love and began working for the Florida School of Preaching. She
served as the Secretary and Social Media Coordinator and finally retired at the age of
ninety!
Her last residence was Azalea Park Senior Living Center. She had many friends there
and the staff and fellow residents admired her amazing fashion and style. On Sunday
mornings they would sit outside by the front door, hoping to catch a glimpse of her outfit
of the day which frequently included a beautiful hat.
She was a shining example of Christian principles. She was never judgmental, and she
exemplified kindness, forgiveness and unconditional love for her family and most
importantly, the Lord.
She is survived by her sister Peggy Moore Richardson, her two sons Sam Henry
Bolding Junior (Patti) and Carl Thomas Bolding (Estrella), her grandchildren Michelle
Bolding Kendrick (Jimmy), Jamie Bolding Becker (Fran), Justin Thomas Bolding
(Kelsey), Christopher Adam Bolding and her Great-grandchildren William Francis
Becker, Henry Brooks Becker, Thomas Banks Bolding, Sam Cooper Bolding and Tripp
Collins Bolding.
Rest in Peace beautiful bettye. Well done thy good and faithful servant!
A visitation for bettye bolding will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to
11:00 AM at the South Florida Church of Christ, 1807 South Florida Avenue, Lakeland,
Florida 33803, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
