Gladys V. Bolding went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2025 - almost made the century mark! Gladys was born June 27, 1925 in Tivoli, Texas to Alice V. and James Daniel (Dan) Bundick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 73 years, John Clark Bolding, daughters Carolyn Marie Marlar, Jonnie Lou Nesbitt, and son James Franklin (Jimmy) Bolding, granddaughter Desirae Leigh Bolding, son in laws Joseph Howell (Joe) Parks and James Leonard (Jim) Marlar.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Jo Parks and son Robert Dean Bolding and wife Diane, son in law Chris Nesbitt, daughter in law Sharon Bolding, nephew John Harold Bolding and wife Nancy, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews. She truly loved being a Grandma and was always known as "Nonnie".
Boundless and unconditional as a loving and devoted Wife, Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend to too many to even count! An enduring force shaping everyone whose path she crossed. We were blessed beyond measure.
She tolerated all the many moves during John's Texaco Days. 34 moves in 39 years before retiring back to Goliad in 1985. Tales of her growing up on the ranch were always fun to hear as well as her days of living in town during high school. She was a beautician before marrying John. She managed to keep her sanity raising 5 children in a mobile home. She handled and kept track of all the school and medical information for each move for everyone. For her children she was not terribly strict but could throw a shoe with great accuracy for childhood misadventures - when we were caught at least. She enjoyed gardening, baking, children and sewing. She comes from a long line of great and faithful Christian women! We all have memories of her Grandmother Hall always having her Bible open and reading, even with a magnifying glass in her later years.
Gladys' Grandchildren are Michelle Marie Marlar, John Daniel (Danny) Nesbitt, Christina Jo Harlow and husband Leslie, James Clark Bolding, Alisha Marie Bolding and husband Jodie, Michael Warham Parks and wife Brenda, Matthew Wallace Parks, Joseph Ake (Joe) Bolding and Daneen Michelle Bolding.
Her Great-grandchildren: Desirae Marie Marlar, Natalie Grace and Emma Leigh Harlow, Joshua (Benny) Hamilton Jr., Makayla (KK) Herrera, John Paul (JP) Vickery, Josiah Franklin Herrera; Phoenix Marie and Emery Luna Parks, Lucy Fae Bolding and Thomas Ake Bolding.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 332 East Ward Street, Goliad Texas at 11:00 AM. Internment at Sarco Cemetery, 9444 FM 2441 and a Celebration of life Reception to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice, Goliad Senior Citizens Center or St Jude Children's Hospital.
We would like to thank Harbor Hospice of Victoria – they are angels sent to guide and help during the most difficult time that a family must go through. Patient and kind and always available – Nurse Janet and CNA Dulce went above and beyond and have our most heartfelt thanks.

I met Gladys when we moved here 19 yrs ago. She was just the kindest lady. After all the years, her smile is what I remember. The last time at church, just a few weeks ago, I waved to her and she brightened the world with that same smile.
Prayers of comfort for the family. You were blessed to have her in your life, so was I.
