Billy Ray Karnei went to be with the Lord August 10, 2025 at the age of 69. He was born January 25, 1956 in Yorktown, Texas to Oscar and Rosie Karnei.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grace Funeral Home in Goliad, Texas. Funeral Service will be Monday, August 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Weesatche, Texas with burial to follow at St. Andrews Lutheran Cemetery. Honoring Billy as pallbearers will be Dustin Karnei, Ethan Karnei, Eric Herbold, Trent Zwahr, Steven Schultze, Tyler Schultze, Buster Krause, and Allen Kolodziejcyk.

Billy worked for Harkins and TXDOT until retirement. He was a member of the JCs, Weesatche Fire Department and was the founder of the Weesatche Buck Contest. Billy enjoyed gardening, hunting, making sausage, cooking and wine making, and shooting skeet. He was also a supporter of numerous 4-H, FFA and Rodeo organizations. He will be deeply missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing him.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Rosie Karnei.

Leaving to cherish his memory are his siblings, Glenn Karnei of Goliad, Texas, Terry Karnei of Weesatche, Texas, Barry Karnei (Nadine) of Weesatche, Texas; nephews, Dustin Karnei, Ethan Karnei (Ashley); nieces, Clara Simpson (Anthony), Melissa Karnei, Samantha Herbold (Eric), Amber Zwahr (Trent); great nieces and nephews, Ava Karnei, Chevy Zwahr, Owen Herbold, Emma Fox, Blakely Zwahr, Annelyse Karnei.

Memorial donations may be made to Weesatche Fire Department and St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
