Sawyer-George Funeral HomeBettye Jean Parr Williams passed away peacefully in Boerne, Texas on Monday, August 18, 2025. She has left this world and now goes to live her eternal life reunited with loved ones she missed so very much: husband, Milton “Mickey” Williams; mother, Rena J. Parr; father, Jesse T. Parr; sisters, Delores Zavisch, Frances Ingle, and Carolyn Earnest Hall; and brother, J.B. Parr, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Nueces County, Robstown, Texas on August 30, 1932. She established many lifelong friends while attending school there, especially with best friend, Tassy Whitson. After graduating high school, she went on to Baylor University before marrying Mickey on November 11, 1950. Shortly afterwards they moved to Bermuda while Mickey was in the Air Force, and returned to Banquete, Texas once his time in the military was over. She and Mickey would spend 71 years together until his death in 2021. They raised two daughters, Debbie Avery (Wolfgang), of Boerne, and Marcie Perlman (Neal), of San Angelo, and had two grandchildren, Hillary Perlman (Natalie Kitroeff) and Hunter Avery, as well as one great-grandson, Theo Perlman.
Bettye loved being active and had many hobbies. She sewed beautifully and made and designed all of her daughters’ clothes until they left home. She loved to cook and was well known for her candy making skills, delivering plates of candy to family and friends at Christmastime every year up until just a few years ago. She worked at the Robstown High School Library for several years and loved to read. She later enjoyed selling clothes and jewelry and had her own shop in Calallen for a period of time. She also enjoyed working with silk flowers, wreaths, and beading. She stayed involved in her daughters’ many activities and was a member of the Agua Dulce Baptist Church.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Robstown Cemetery in Robstown at a date to be determined.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hope Hospice and Anton’s Assisted Living for their loving care of Bettye.
