Beverley "Bev" A. (Dineson) Mershon, age 72 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford, Connecticut on April 4, 1953 to the late Hans and Edna (Sherman) Dineson.
Bev graduated from Milford High School in Connecticut in 1971 and attended college in Boston, Massachusetts and Dubuque, Iowa. She opened Munchkinland Daycare in her home, where she nurtured and educated countless children, treating each one as if they were family. Bev also shared her vibrant spirit in various roles, including positions at Sugar Creek Animal Hospital and Neighborhood Drycleaners, and as a bookkeeper for several local businesses.
Bev's passions extended far beyond her work. She had an undeniable love for the outdoors and animals, especially her cherished dogs. Whether she was landscaping her yard, driving her tractor in the woods, or spending time splitting firewood, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Bev was also an enthusiastic seamstress, known for her skill and creativity. She will be remembered for her creative and witty sense of humor and she was well known for her crafty practical jokes.
On September 2, 1995, she married her beloved husband of 30 years, William "Chumley" Mershon, who survives. She also leaves behind two children, Geoffrey Godbout and Kristy Godbout, three step-children, Matthew Mershon, Meaghan Mershon and Michael Mershon; a granddaughter, Calla Godbout, and several step grandchildren; her three siblings, Cindy, Fred and Cliff; and her beloved dogs, Bonnie, Darby, Snoodle, and her four-legged shadows, Toby and Bitsy. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and pets.
Cremation was chosen with a private family celebration at a later date. Memorial donations may be given in her memory to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big 4 Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
