Beverly Jean (Bradway) Avery, 70, of Stafford Springs, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. While unexpected for us, the Lord decided it was time to reunite her with her beloved husband, Jack, of 40 years. The Lord was graceful and allowed her to pass peacefully in her sleep in the home they built together, as was her wish. Beverly is survived by her son, Daniel J. Avery, of Stafford, her daughter, Amanda J. (Avery) Brummel and her husband, Andrew, her two beloved grandchildren, Adeline and Brady, all of Michigan, her sister, Priscilla (Bradway) Porier and husband Roger, her brother, Donald Bradway and wife Karen, her sister Elaine (Bradway) Lueckel and husband William, all of Stafford, a large extended family, including several nieces and nephews, and her cats, Lucy and Sally. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack K. Avery, her parents, Calvin and Grace (Royce) Bradway, and her sister, Cindy (Bradway) Galotto. Beverly grew up in Union, "Connecticut's smallest town," and then moved just down the street into Stafford, where she and her husband shared the rest of their lives living right next to her family's farm. She graduated from Stafford High School in 1973, and later from Manchester Community College with a degree in Law Enforcement. She met her husband at MCC and they briefly served together as CT State Police Auxiliary Troopers. She worked for 44 years at Stafford Savings Bank before retiring to spend as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren. She was very actively involved in Eastford Baptist Church, where she served for many years as the church librarian. Her other roles included deaconess, youth leader, treasurer, and too many more to list. She and Jack were devout followers of Jesus and loved their many dear friends in the Church. Beverly loved the outdoors and enjoyed helping her brother on the farm, working in her garden, growing flowers all around her house, and caring for the many wild birds in her yard, especially blue birds, cardinals, and humming birds. On Mondays, she enjoyed playing volleyball at her church, and she would often travel to Michigan to visit her daughter's family, or accompany them on family vacations, and especially loved to spend time with her two precious grandchildren, Addie and Brady. Even when she was home in Connecticut, she would spend time with them nearly every morning talking over FaceTime. There will be a celebration of her life on Friday, August 29, at Eastford Baptist Church, 133 Union Rd., Eastford, CT. Friends are invited to greet the family at the church at 2 PM with a service to be held at 4 PM and a meal to follow. Attendees are encouraged to wear something red, as this was Bev's favorite color. Burial will take place at Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT on Saturday, August 30, at 11 AM. Donations can be made in Beverly's name to the Eastford Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 133 Union Rd., Eastford, CT 06242. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com.
