Beverly Hunter Bargfrede, 84, wife of Robert Charles Bargfrede, died on Monday, October 14, 2024. Beverly was born January 26, 1940, in Athens, GA to the late Katherleen Shaw and Paul Hunter. She was married to her faithful and devoted husband, Robert Charles (Bob) Bargfrede for 62 years. Beverly was the mother of Robert Dirk Bargfrede (Paula). She was known to her grandchildren as their “Mimi”. Robert Spencer Bargfrede and Jenna Lynn Bargfrede were her pride and joy. She never missed a chance to tell a story about her grandchildren. Beverly was a graduate of Athens High, making her career in dental hygiene. She made Watkinsville her home starting in 1969 and never moved. Beverly was one of five sisters (the Hunter girls) including Paula Jones, Patricia Hunter, Linda Hunter and Vicki McCain. Their laughter together was infectious. One had to giggle just listening to all of them when they were together. She also leaves behind her beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Beverly was an active member of Watkinsville First Christian Church, where she served in numerous roles throughout her adult life. Beverly served the Athens community as a Dental Hygienist for Drs Doug Henson Sr and Jr for over 40 years. She loved each of her patients and considered them friends and family. She enjoyed volunteering for ACTS to give back to the community. Beverly enjoyed her Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldawgs, country music, attending church at Watkinsville Christian, but mostly sharing a laugh and story with her family and friends. Beverly was known for her feisty, outgoing and loving personality centered around her Christian faith. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Watkinsville First Christian Church, P.O. Box 287, Watkinsville, GA 30677. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Pastor Alan Cloar officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eric and Darren Jones, Alan and James Hunter, Paul Foles and Leo Baker.
