A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Beverly Ann Daspit Benson was born on September 30, 1934, to the late Anthony Joseph Daspit and Nola Marie Romero Daspit. Beverly lived a life full of love, laughter, and a fierce dedication to her family and pets, and was the heart and soul of her family. With a spirit that could light up any room, she had an uncanny ability to bring everyone together. A true matriarch, she was the glue of the family. She took immense pride in nurturing her loved ones, ensuring that they were always cared for. Her loving devotion extended beyond her family to her cherished dogs and cats, who were fortunate to experience her warmth and care.
Though known for being a bit bossy, it was a trait that endeared her to many. Beverly's assertiveness was a testament to her strong character and her unwavering determination to keep her family close. She took pride in her role, always ready to guide, support, and sometimes wrangle her grandchildren when they gathered for holidays or special occasions. Her legacy will live on through the values she instilled in those around her, emphasizing the importance of family, love, and togetherness.
Her passion for cooking was as vibrant as her personality. Beverly could often be found in the kitchen, where she poured her love into every meal, creating lasting memories around the dinner table. Her dishes were more than just food; they were the comforting embrace of home, spiced with laughter and the delightful banter of family gatherings.
