Obituary
July 5, 1953 – September 14, 2023
Beverly Lynn Buckner of Old Fort passed away peacefully Thursday, September 14,
2023, at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.
Beverly was born in Buncombe County on July 5, 1953, to Susie Buckner and the
late Jim Buckner of Black Mountain.
Beverly loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved the ocean and spent many
summer vacations with family and friends at Myrtle Beach. She got immense
pleasure from her three cats, bargain hunting, watching birds and spending time
with friends. But her greatest joy and what she valued most was her family, who
will miss her deeply.
In addition to her mother, Beverly will be missed by her companion of 29 years,
Jerry Fuller; son, Stacey Peek of Morganton; grandson, Jackson Peek of Asheville;
granddaughter, Stella Peek of Morganton; sisters, Sandra Buckner Ruby of
Ridgecrest and Terry Buckner Moseley (Kelvin) of Asheville; numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins and many, many friends who loved her dearly.
Those wishing to honor Beverly's memory may do so by giving to a charity of their
choice.
A Celebration of Beverly's life will be held at a later date.

I did not personally know Beverly but I have known her son Stacey since he was maybe 6 years old and became someone very special in our family. You became friends with my sons Franky and Matt and my protector in an absolutely horrible haunted house experience. Stacey, I can honestly say if you had not been there, I would have had a heart attack and died when Jason came after me. Take care sweetheart, Mom's in God's care now, and we are all here for you and whatever you may need.
