Beverly Ann Chambers, 89, Transitioned into the Savior’s sweet presence on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at her home in Tupelo. She was born August 19, 1934 in Brice Missouri at a CC camp to Cecile Layton and Enoch Gilley. She was the youngest of nine children. She grew up in the Midwest and came to Tupelo in 1962 where she worked for several years at Todd’s Big Star and was also the manager of the Timberlawn Apartments.
She was a member for many years at First Baptist Church in Verona. She later attended Lakeview Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She loved to hear Billy Graham preach. In her later years she enjoyed working Jigsaw puzzles and eating ice cream.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lindley (Charles); daughter-in-law, Cheryl Henson; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith Salas, and sons, William and John Henson.
Visitation will be 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Pegues Tupelo
A celebration of Beverly’s life will follow at 11 a.m. in the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Rob Garland officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
