Beverly (Bev) Joyce Cops, from Tampa Florida, (originally from Oshkosh/Appleton, Wisconsin), age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2024. She was born to the late Evert and Elsie (Reeck) Pryne on April 13, 1933. On May 14, 1955, Beverly married her loving and devoted late husband, Edmund Theodore Cops at St. Mary Catholic Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They were fortunate to celebrate 66 years of marriage!
Beverly was blessed with 4 wonderful daughters: Patty Correll-Hickey (Fred), Diana Hielsberg, Gail Nowland (Jay), and Judy Oder (Robert), all from the Tampa Bay Area in Florida. Beverly cherished her 9 Grandchildren: Michelle Campbell-Correll (Sherie’), Christopher Mayhall (Kelly), Jennifer Bielema (Bret), Matthew Hielsberg (Maria), Krystal Nowland, Chiffon Smith (Joel), Shallyn Mende (Sam), Brittany Spence (Roy), and Devin Oder. She also treasured her 10 Great-Grandchildren: Anderson, Addison, Blake, Wyatt, Briella, Brexli, Dayla, Dove, Jett, Stella, plus 1 more due in January.
Beverly is survived by her only sibling, Kenneth Pryne, and four nieces: Susan, Linda, Donna, Doris. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Margie Young, Joyce Cops, and brother-in-law Fr. Gus Cops, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Evert and Elsie (Reeck) Pryne, sister-in-law Bernice Pryne. Also sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Nelly and Mart Van Nuland, Fr. Peter Cops, Mary and Peter (Bill) Havinga, Annie and Ken Schuh, Dorothy and Joseph Van Nuland, Josie and John Vincent, Jerry and Bea Cops, Henry (Hank) Cops, and Paul Young.
The family would like to invite you to come celebrate Beverly’s life with a Funeral Liturgy at St Mary Catholic Church, 312 S State St., Appleton, on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 10:30 am, officiated by Fr. Bill Swichtenberg. The viewing will be immediately before the Funeral Liturgy from 9:30-10:30 am. Live-stream of the Services will be available at 10:30 am via stmaryparish.org/funeral-livestream through Beverly’s obituary page.
A luncheon will follow at Pullman’s At Trolley Square in Appleton at 12:00pm (619 South Olde Oneida Street). After the Funeral Liturgy, Beverly will be taken to her final resting place at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Oshkosh.
Beverly was a caring mother with family as her pride and joy. She was a caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, and Sister. Beverly always enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, the casino, and fishing.
Please come celebrate Beverly’s life, have some lunch, share your stories, and remember Beverly.
