Beverly Darwin Obituary

Published by Legacy on May 20, 2025.
Beverly Jo (White) Darwin – September 13,1937 to May 19, 2025, beloved wife and mother, died surrounded by her family.
She cherished her faith and her family –
Gary, Leslie, Missy, and Amy, as well as their exchange student Isabella, who became their Italian daughter. She was "Mimi" to her grandchildren who adored her just as much as she adored them.
Beverly greeted everyone with a beaming smile.
She was deeply committed to First United Methodist Church in Little Rock and her new church home, Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. She was a staunch supporter of Little Rock Public Schools, CALS, Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, and Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. She served on the boards of Single Parent Scholarship Fund for Pulaski County and Mt. Eagle Retreat Center.
Beverly was a psychiatric nurse. She was a competitive tennis player and a voracious reader. She enjoyed doing The New York Times puzzles and playing Mah Jongg, Spite and Malice, and Bridge.
For decades, she and Gary played Bridge almost every week with their closest friends.
She cherished her family and friends in Beebe where she rode horses when she was four years old in a pair of cowboy boots and a dress. She continued to visit Beebe for the rest of her life, as she adored so many people there.
The love story of Beverly and Gary is one for the ages. Even when health issues challenged them, there was an abundance of joy and laughter in their home.
"If you're looking for an example of how to live, there she is," Gary Darwin said of his bride of 62 years.
Beverly is predeceased by her parents V.C. and Irene White, her sister Katherine Cardwell, and her brothers Sidney White and Richard White. She is survived by her husband Gary, daughters Leslie Darwin O'Brien (Tim), Missy Darwin Kincaid (Bill), Amy Darwin (Everett Ayers), and grandchildren Charlie, Eli, and Matthew O'Brien, Emory and Sydney Kincaid, and a multitude of other family members.
The family is grateful for the excellent and compassionate care from her medical team and many friends who visited and provided support.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 23 at 11:00 at Central United Methodist Church, 6 West Dickson Street, Fayetteville.
A Service of Interment will be held at a later date in Little Rock.
