Beverly A. Dixon

Beverly Amanda Dixon, age 75, of Felton, Delaware, was born on August 29, 1950, to the late Curtis N. Powell, Sr, and Marion C. (Berry) Powell. She peacefully departed this life on December 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
From a young age, Beverly was known for her academic excellence. Exceptionally studious and gifted, she excelled in her studies and was promoted ahead two grade levels. She attended William Henry High School and later graduated from Felton High School in the late 1960s, following desegregation.
After graduation, Beverly began her professional journey at Playtex International, working as a machine operator before transitioning into Quality Control. After retiring from Playtex, she continued her dedication to detail and hard work at Penn Fiber as a data entry and quality control assistant. She later extended her compassion to others through her service as a home health aide with Genesis Healthcare. Throughout her career, she earned numerous certifications and took great pride in every role she fulfilled.
Beverly was united in marriage to Floyd S. Dixon, and together they shared over 50 years of devotion, partnership, and love, all while residing in Felton, Delaware. Beverly was a proud wife, a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a woman of strong Christian faith.
A lifelong and dedicated member of Mt. Plymouth AME Church, Beverly served faithfully in many roles, including Steward, Stewardess, Worship Leader, Head of the Hospitality Ministry, Local Chairperson of Evangelism, Usher, and a member of the Edith Scott Missionary Society. She took immense pride in her service, and her church family cherished her warmth, dedication, and gentle spirit. Beverly was loved by everyone and, in turn, loved everyone unconditionally. She possessed a deeply forgiving soul and lived her faith with humility and grace.

Beverly loved fashion, cars, shopping, decorating, and was a houseplant enthusiast. She was also well known for her exceptional cooking skills and often prepared elaborate feasts for her family from scratch. Among her many memorable dishes, her pork chops-always paired with an ice-cold Pepsi-were legendary within the family.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Rachel E. Powell.
Beverly leaves to cherish her precious memory, her husband, Floyd S. Dixon; her daughters, Dr. Kimberlynn R. Reeves (Alandis, Jr.) and Florinda S. Hovington (Darrell); her grandchildren, Alandis Reeves III, Jada Dixon, Khalil Reeves, Darrianna Hovington, and Darrius Hovington; her siblings, Curtis Powell, Jr. (Renee), Vanessa Powell (Wendell Perkins), Cynthia Teague, and Sheldon Powell; sisters-in-law, Virginia Young, Loretta Mann, Cheryl Pritchett, Joesphine May, and Agnes Taylor (Ralph); and her brother-in-law, Alphonso Pritchett.
She is also lovingly survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Favored, faith-filled, and steeped in strength and service, Beverly's life was a testament to God's unwavering grace and eternal love. Her memory will continue to live on in every heart she touched.
