Beverly Dory Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd) with burial to follow at Elkhart Cemetery. The service will be live streamed at https://vimeo.com/event/3976148.
Beverly Ann Dory was born to Mary Marguerite and William Russell Massey on November 20, 1938, in Decatur County. She graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1957.
Beverly entered into marriage with Marion (Mac) McClure in 1958. To that union was born a son Justin Joel. Beverly remarried Ken Dory in 1974 which increased the family to include three added children – Kent, Dean and Lisa.
Beverly worked for the Iowa Department of Education from 1978 to 2000 when she retired. She then entered a second career with Ken managing rental properties. Beverly lost Ken in 2017 and then entered another adventure in her life. She moved to her home in Cambridge where she enjoyed planting a garden with flowers and vegetables. Beverly also started a hobby of painting scenery pictures. She gave many of them to local charities.
Beverly is survived by her son, Justin; daughter-in-law, Helen; stepchildren, Kent, Dean and Lisa; nephew, TJ Fry, and niece, Samantha Fry Werner. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Massey, and sister, Jennie Fry.
Beverly was known to many as a kindhearted lady who helped everyone she met. Beverly impacted many lives and will be greatly missed.

I will miss Beverly and our sharing of genealogy on the Massey side and their wives. She helped me get started on several branches. Also enjoyed all the stories of her brother, Tommie, and my husband and their stories at Uncle Miles and Aunt Clara.
