Beverly Nurse Freeman, 82, passed away on August 2, 2025. She was born Beverly Ann Bell on December 30, 1942, to Vergil and Marguerite Bell. Her siblings were Harry, Vergil, Jean, Gladys (Happy), and Craig.
She lived in the Bostonia area of El Cajon before moving with her family to Fletcher Hills. Beverly attended Grossmont High School. In 1958, she married Jerry Nurse, and they were married for 42 years until his passing in 2000.
Throughout her life, she worked at various schools in the cafeteria and did lunch duty. She also had insurance and securities licenses. Her biggest accomplishment was being a housewife and a mother. She had five children: Leslie, Jerry, Lance, Blaine, and Darren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, and her sons, Jerry II and Lance. Beverly had nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Mat, Justin, Rochelle, Blaine, Garrett, Erin, Delaney, and Kara; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mason, Peyton, Briley, Tyler, Jace, Aribella, Chanelle, Summer, Camille, Brinley, and Carson.
In 2016, she married Larry Freeman and had two stepchildren, Scott and Kristi, which included grandchildren, Zack, Sam, and Nathaniel and a great-grandchild, Evelyn. In 2021, she and her husband moved to Lampasas, Texas. She was a devoted Christian woman, a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to so many. She loved her family with all of her heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 11 a.m. at the Alpine Community Center in Alpine, 1830 Alpine Blvd.
Bev will be greatly missed. Until we meet again, we love you.
