Patoutville, LA – A home-going celebration of life for Mrs. Beverly Hills, 78, the former Beverly Mitchell, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church (9904 Eighty Arpent Road) with Rev. Charles Matthews, officiating.
She will await the resurrection at Saint Mark Baptist Church (Hwy 87) in Jeanerette, LA.
Visitation will be observed at Mount Carmel Baptist Church on Saturday, July 22, 2023, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Beverly Hills was a resident of Jeanerette, LA. She transitioned at 4:01 P.M. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at her residence.
Mrs. Hills was a graduate of Grambling State University in Ruston, LA, where she received her bachelor's degree in education. Shortly after graduating, she furthered her education by attending Southern University A&M College and obtained her master's degree. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the senior choir. She will truly be missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her four brothers: Raymond Mitchell (Ruby) of Jeanerette, LA, James Dwight Mitchell (Traci) of Downey, CA, Leonard Mitchell (Lula) of Vacaville, CA, and Robert Wayne Mitchell (Irma) of New Iberia, LA; four godchildren: Jonathan Highs, Bryan Mitchell, Mona Pennington, and Paris Mitchell; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: David Hills; her parents: John Mitchell and Virginia Young Mitchell; one sister: Arline Bernard; three brothers: John Allen Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, and Carroll Mitchell.
Active pallbearers are Robert Mitchell, Jr., Isaiah Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Taurance Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, and Ronald Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Sr., Leonard Mitchell, James Mitchell, Roger Fontenette, Ricky Fontenette, Edmond Hills, Grant Hills, Jr., Fredric Hills, John Mitchell, Andre Bernard, Craig Charles, Christopher Charles, DeAngelo Butler, Courtney Hills, and Paris Mitchell.
