Beverly E. (Knolls) Hopkins, 86, of McLean, passed away on October 9, 2024 in Port Washington, NY. Born December 5, 1937 in Cortland, she was the daughter of the late Harold F. and Thelma (Wire) Knolls. A lifelong area resident, Beverly graduated from Dryden High School and retired as Head Cook for Dryden School. She worked for many years with Glenn H. Munson & Son Auctioneers. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a brother, Harold Knolls, Jr. (Sharon), and her children: Lynn Scott (Steve), Daniel Hopkins (Jackie), Teresa Burch (Jim), Beth Boehm (Donald), and Valerie Schlecht (George); 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Richard Hopkins; a grandson, Aaron Chamberlain; and her sisters, Virginia Munson and Marion Signor.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Cortland. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12:00-1:00 PM, preceding the service. Interment will follow in the McLean Cemetery. Friends and family will gather afterwards for a meal at 3:00 PM at the McLean Community Church. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, are graciously directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 49 Hamlin St., Cortland, NY 13045. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shurtleff Funeral Home, Groton.
