William Lee "Bill" Parker, Sr., 76, of Locke, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.

Bill was born on April 23, 1949 in Ithaca, a son of the late Paul and Mae (Oplinger) Parker. He was a lifelong area resident and attended Lansing Central School. Bill retired after 25 years as a crane operator with Local 545 Operating Engineers in Syracuse. He had also worked with Paolangeli Contractors and LRS Excavating in earlier years.

He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, and had been a member of Post 800 American Legion, Vietnam Veterans Chapter # 377, and the Harley Owner Group (HOG).

He is survived by his wife Sigrid "Siggy" (Breeds) Parker, of Locke; sons, William Lee Parker, Jr. (Amber), of Hornell and Larry Stevens, of Locke; grandsons: Tyler Allen and Seth Lee Parker, and Josiah Travis, Izaiah Tyler & Hezekiah Leon Adams; a great-grandson, Jasper Thomas Paul Parker; brothers, James Parker (Rebecca), of TX and Robert Parker (predeceased, Diane), of Lansing; brother-in-law, Herb Robinson, of Cortland; mother-in-law, Ruth Breeds, of Groton; special niece, Robin Burke (Tom), and many other nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Jean Robinson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 31 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Avenue, Groton. Friends may call from 4:00 - 6:00 PM preceding services at the funeral home.
