Beverly Joyce Kores

AUSTIN, TX - Beverly Joyce Kores passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born on October 11, 1936, to Susan Hewlitt and Kenneth Smith. Beverly grew up alongside her siblings Gloria, Sandra, Buck, and Richie, and graduated from Robert E. Fitch High School. After returning to the workforce in 1974, she dedicated many years as a bookkeeper with Republic Oil and later with Rutmans Wayside Furniture. She was preceded in death by her parents, Susan and Kenneth, her sisters Gloria and Sandra, and her oldest daughter, Lucinda. She is lovingly remembered by her children Debbie Young, David Kores, and Donald Kores; her brothers Buck and Richie; seven grand-children Jodie, Miranda, Bethany, Shane, Ryan, Jeremy, and Jacob; and eleven great-grandchildren. Beverly also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss her dearly. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, TX. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment afterward at Smith Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to the American Lung Association in Beverly's memory. A memorial service will be held in Connecticut at a later date.
