Beverly A. Marklin

Bev Marklin, age 87, of Algonac, passed away November 17, 2023. She was born April 11, 1936 in Detroit to Henry and Mildred Ritzler.
Bev graduated from Denby High School in 1954. She is a longtime member of First Lutheran Church, Algonac. Bev loved animals, especially Greyhound dogs. She had the pleasure of giving a home to four Greyhound rescues over the years. Bev was a supporter of Greyhounds of Eastern Michigan and many other animal welfare groups. She also had a great love of gardening and baking. Bev always enjoyed the company of friends and family, the more the better. She was very invested in her grandchildren's lives, building memories they will cherish for life.
Bev is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob Marklin; children, Cheryl (Michael) Devereaux and Jeffrey (Kathy) Schmidt; grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Dargaj, Jeffrey Dargaj, Nicole (Dan) Lin, Brandon Kodos, Beverly (Mario) Kodos, Cody Schmidt and Dylan Schmidt; great grandchildren, Tia Lin, Danika Lin, Mika Lin, Kaia Lin, Suvi Lin, Mady Dargaj, Wyatt Dargaj, Ava Dargaj, Sebastian Lo, Melody Lo, Niko Kodos and Evan Dekiere.
Bev was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mildren Ritzler and daughter, Cynthia Kodos.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27th at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Algonac. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. Visiting hours are Sunday, November 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
