Beverly Anne Marmon passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the age of 86. She is survived by daughter Karen Webb and her husband Tony, daughter-in-law Carol Marmon, son Darryl Marmon and his wife Lisa, and her beloved grandson, Alex Marmon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Marmon, her son, Randy Marmon, her brother, Larry Shope, and sisters, Bobbie Jarrett and Sandra White.
Beverly was born in White, Georgia on November 28, 1937, to Raynol Huel Shope and Johnnie Watts Shope. Beverly was one of the celebrities of her senior class and was voted “Best Personality.” She graduated from O’Keefe High School in Atlanta before marrying Frank Marmon just after her twentieth birthday. The couple adored each other for their entire 60 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother who instilled in her children the importance of character, education, love, and enjoying life. She volunteered for all their activities and was a room mother, team mother, and served in many leadership roles in the PTA. Her favorite role was as a grandmother, which she approached with a childlike enthusiasm and shameless generosity. Her grandson, Alex, brought joy and laughter to her days, as she did for him.
Beverly will be remembered most for her warm smile that lit up a room and her unwavering faith and devotion to Jesus Christ. She lived out her faith daily, putting others first without giving any thought to herself. She was an excellent cook, and when she heard someone was in need, she showed up with food, prayers, cards, or whatever the situation required without being asked and without expecting anything in return. She never complained and was always thankful regardless of her circumstances. She was a talented artist and had a beautiful singing voice. She sang in the choirs at West Merritts and Macland Baptist Churches.
A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 2:00 at West Cobb Funeral Home, with the internment at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park immediately following. The family will receive visitors at West Cobb Funeral Home on March 20th from 12:00 – 2:00 before the funeral service. Reverend Johnny Foster and Mr. Gene Hice will officiate the ceremony.
