A Graveside Service will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery,
Sisseton, SD on Saturday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a family meal at Rosalie's restaurant from 12-2 p.m. Cards for the family can be sent to Robin Moshier, 755 Heifner Rd, Jamestown OH 45335.
Thomas Walter Moshier, a devoted follower of Christ, age 82, gained his heavenly wings in Xenia, Ohio on 21 November 2024 due to complications from congestive heart failure. He was born 10/16/1942 in Sisseton South Dakota, son of Richard and Doris (Ruckdaschel) Moshier. "Tom" was a graduate of Sisseton High School class of 1960 and graduated in 1965 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota State University (Brookings, SD). He received a B.S. in Business from the University of Hawaii in 1969.
Beverly Jean (Horton) Moshier, faithful servant of the Lord, age 81, entered into God's Kingdom three weeks later on 12 December 2024 as a consequence of dementia. Born 11/10/1943 in
Sisseton, South Dakota, daughter of Harold "Shorty" and Augusta "Gustie" (Rinas) Horton of Sisseton South Dakota. "Bev" was a graduate of Sisseton High School class of 1961 and a 1964 graduate from the Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing (Sioux Falls, SD). She obtained a BS in Nursing Administration from City University of Seattle in 1986.
They were wed in Sioux Falls, SD on August 21, 1964. They enjoyed a remarkable life together, living in Albert Lea, MN; Texarkana, TX; Oahu, HI; Bowie, MD; Poulsbo, WA; retired to Surprise, AZ, and spent their final months in Xenia, OH near their three children, Robin Claire, Thomas Wayne, and Tavis Wade Moshier. On 21 August 2024, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Until he passed, Tom would proudly state that Bev was the love of his life.
Tom started his career as a production manager for Walker products at Lake Mills, Iowa. In 1966, he started his 32 year US Navy civilian service career working as a mechanical/marine engineer out of Pearl harbor Hawaii servicing naval ships. He retired in 1998 from his final position at the Trident Refit Facility, Bangor (TRFB) where he was responsible for repairing, overhauling and modernizing Pacific Fleet ballistic missile submarines during refits.
Throughout her career, Bev worked as a Registered Nurse in surgical, orthopedic, pediatric, mental health and home care positions. In the early 90's, she obtained additional certifications in chemical dependency counseling, and a Washington State Counselors License. She retired from Naval Hospital Bremerton in 2005 from her final nursing position within the mental health clinic substance abuse and rehabilitation Program.
Tom, joins his parents Richard and Doris (Ruckdaschel) Moshier (SD), and siblings Mary Moshier (SD), Robert Moshier (SD), Joseph Moshier (SD), Verle (Moshier) Thompson (WA), Michael (Barbara) Moshier (MN) and David (Carol) Moshier (SD) in Heaven. He is survived by his brothers James (Patricia) Moshier (SD) and Richard (Barbara) Moshier (SD).
Bev joined her parents Shorty and Gustie (Rinas) Horton in Heaven. She is survived by her siblings Carol (George) Singer (CA), Robert (Shirley) Horton (SD), Jan (Dick) Macek (NM), Cheryl Horton (TX), Boni (Steven) George (SD), Cindy (Steve) Palleson (SD), Tammy (Curt) Lovil (AZ).
