The family of David Graham Kenyon, a.k.a. Crockett, would like to share with you that David has gone on to be with his beloved Susie.
David, 82 years old, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Sunday, September 28th, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Westerly, Rhode Island on July 13th, 1943, he was the son of Joseph W. Kenyon Sr. and Agnes L. (Lanphere) Kenyon.
David graduated with the first graduating class of Chariho High School. He went on to South Dakota State University. After college he worked at EB, Warner Textiles/Collins & Aikman/Imperial Wallpaper, and a brief stint at Chickadee Farms.
David was a self-proclaimed Swamp Yankee and was very proud of that. He loved farming, horses, cows, chickens, farm equipment, and of course, his truck. He also loved making pies.
David helped Pastor Bob Barnett with the building of the Chariho Southern Baptist Church and Parsonage. He often said he was fueled by bologna sandwiches and coffee supplied by Mary Barnett. It was with Pastor Bob that David found his way to Jesus. Please be assured that David was at peace with his soul.
Special thanks to the Wood River Inn staff and patrons. David found many a good friend and a good meal there. Also a special thanks to Danny at Lucky house. David's last meal request was for his favorite Lucky House Beef Lo Mein.
David leaves his daughter Linda Kenyon-King and son (in-law) Michael King, grandchildren Jamie Kenyon, Erin King, and Jesse King (wife Danielle), and 7 great-grandsons. Also nephew Mark Kenyon and niece Joanne Guarnieri (husband Maurice).
As many of you know, he was preceded in death by his love, Susan E. (Mills) Kenyon. He carried her picture in his wallet until the day he died.
David was an organ donor. Please consider this legacy that you also can choose to pass on.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Chariho Southern Baptist Church or Hopkinton Animal Control.
