Beverly Jean (Clarin) Noll, age 81, formerly of Golva, ND, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in
Wibaux, MT. Beverly was born on December 8, 1943, in Glendive, MT, the second daughter of Robert and Eleanor (Finneman) Clarin. Bev was later joined by two younger siblings, Joyce and Jim. Raised on the family farm in rural Golva, Bev actively helped her family with harvests and farm chores. She could be found driving the tractor or trucks and helping with whatever needed to be done. She and her siblings along with neighboring farm kids would also test their driving abilities with the occasional race. Bev was a bright student from early on, and her creativity never left her. As a young girl, she enjoyed drawing and sketching. She attended Golva High School and was an active participant in the school paper, in class plays and in band, playing the saxophone, piano, as well as playing the organ at church. She also showed her support of the Golva Tigers as a cheerleader. For several years, Bev, Joyce and Jim were always excited and looked forward to all the fun at the large family gatherings at their farm on Christmas Eve with their numerous cousins and aunts and uncles before all attended midnight Mass.
After graduating high school with the Class of 1961, Bev attended university in Grand Forks, ND, majoring in business. She also took foreign language courses while in college, and assisted teaching Spanish classes. After earning her bachelor's degree, Bev returned home. On June 30, 1965, she married the love of her life, Gerald Noll, who also happened to be working as her father's hired hand. She then started a job at the First State Bank of Golva for a short time before starting a family. Bev and Gerald shared a wonderful life together and welcomed three children into the world, Laurie, Leon, and Danny.
Bev's family lovingly recall her endlessly creative mind and manner. She threw her energy into numerous crafting and sewing projects as well as cooking and baking duties. Bev loved words-often clicking away at typewriter keys and communicating with her family through columns of sticky notes filled with her distinctive printing. She was a true wordsmith, and it is something her children and grandchildren will always remember. She was also an inimitable family historian, who could detail relationships and connections generations back. She always enjoyed listening to music, especially the music of Lawrence Welk.
Bev's primary interest and focus throughout most of her life as a homemaker was her family and relatives. She watched over her children's schooling closely, always making sure homework never fell short. Bev expanded her duties, teaching CCD for decades, in addition to serving the Church in many additional ways, from Altar Society, church dinners and lunch committees as well as seasonal decorating. Bev's children and grandchildren will fondly look back on holiday get-togethers with her and the extra effort she put into food and decoration, especially all those years of Easter Bunny tracks. Bev had many mountains to climb with the health challenges she faced in her life. Her strong faith gave her strength through so many of those times.
Beverly was preceded in death by her infant sister, Sheryll Clarin, her brother, Jim Clarin, her parents, Robert and Eleanor Clarin, her grandson, Nicholas Hurley, her son, Leon Noll and her grandson, Logan Noll.
Bev is survived by her husband, Gerald Noll, Golva; children, Laurie (Phil) Hurley, Fairview, MT, Danny (JessiKay) Noll, Golva; grandchildren, Sheldon (Hannah) Noll, Wilton, ND, Stephan (Sarah) Noll, Fargo, ND, Josh (Tiana) Hurley, Billings, MT, Hannah Hurley, Billings, Emery Noll, Golva, Sawyer Noll, Golva, Linsey Noll, Dickinson, Ryen Noll, Golva, Jareyn Noll, Golva, and Meryk Noll, Golva; sister, Joyce (Tom) Ray, Regina, SK; and numerous cousins, especially childhood confidant, Gail Weishaar, Bowman, ND.
