Audre Barthel Obituary

Audre' was born on July 14, 1928 in Beach, North Dakota to her parents Theodore and Agatha (Ronelenfitsch) Quade. She received her early education at the Jordon School through eighth grade south of Wibaux, then she attended St. Thomas School in Great Falls, Montana for two years before finishing her education at Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Miles City, Montana where she graduated as the Salutatorian of the class of 1946.
Audre' was united in marriage to Raymond Barthel on June 20, 1950 at the old St. Peter's rock church. Together they owned the Gambles Store and ran it for years. Audre' also was the Wibaux County Treasurer for two years and worked for Irene Nistler the Wibaux County Superintendent of Schools as well farming west of Wibaux for many years.
Audre' had a wonderful wit that could put a smile on anyone's face. She loved her garden flowers and tried to clean up flower beds all over town. Audre' kept busy in the church flowers beds and she always found weeds to pull, she took great pride in her beautiful yard. Above everything, her family was always the most important to her.
She was a member of St. Peter's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, The Garden Club, Wibaux Chamber of Commerce and she was the historian for St. Peter's old rock church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; three brothers, Roland, Quentin and Dennis Quade; two great grandchildren, Tate Begger and Hailey Morasko and one son-in-law, Robert Begger.
Audre' is survived by her children, Virginia Begger of Wibaux, Larry (Rita) Barthel of Billings, Montana, Carol Barthel of Oaklawn, Illinois, Gerry (Gayle) Barthel of Clio, Michigan and Tim (Mary Alice) Barthel of Wibaux; eleven grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert (Kathleen) Quade of Wibaux; one sister, Marlene Blome of Wibaux and numerous nieces and nephews.
