Beverly Ann Prestwood was born on September 23, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma to Roy Howard and Faye Evelyn Cornell. She had one younger sister, Carol Peteway.
Ann and her family moved to Galena Park, Texas when she was five and that is where she attended school and met her first husband, Don Wallace Ricks. Ann and Don had two boys, Layne in 1962 and Rusty in 1964.
After her divorce from Don, she met and married the true love of her life, Darwin K. (Bud) Prestwood in 1972. Ann and Bud remained married until Bud’s death in 2006. Together Ann and Bud blended their two families: her two boys Layne and Rusty Ricks and his four girls, Cha-Che Bomer, Lena Henderson, Barbara Headley and Shaunna Martinez.
Ann & Bud spent most of their lives in the East Houston area. She worked many years for Bank of American and Coopers and Lybrand before retiring in her early 50’s.Her retirement years doting on her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved gardening, cooking, family and her beloved Houston Astros.
A celebration of life for Ann is being planned in a few weeks.
