Beverly Ann Rathe, age 86, of Culbertson, NE passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 in McCook, NE.
Beverly was born February 16, 1938 in Beverly, NE to parents Jake and E. Vaughneta (Follet) Schlager. She was one of four children who graduated from Culbertson High School with the Class of 1955.
On October 6, 1957, Beverly married the love of her life, Arlan Earl Rathe, in Culbertson. To this union five children were born.
Beverly enjoyed drawing and artwork; she was a talented seamstress. Beverly was very outgoing and loved social gatherings, especially square dancing and playing cards with friends and family. Her favorite game to play was pinochle. Beverly was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and on the Ladies Aide Committee. She also cleaned the church for many years.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Richard Schlager.
Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Robin Haynes of McCook, NE, Ryan (Deb) Rathe of Palisade, NE, Rhonda (Tracey) Refior of McCook, NE, Rachelle Steinhour of Minden, NE and Randal (Erin) Rathe of Ainsworth, NE; fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra (Dewayne) Hanes of McCook, NE and Penny (Ed) Schneider of Brighton, CO; sister in law, Judy Schlager of McCook, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
Visitation with family present to greet friends will be held from 5 to7pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, June 28, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Culbertson, with Pastor Bradley Rick officiating.
Burial will follow in the Culbertson Cemetery.
